Low-cost, high-quality color imaging

Spectral imaging was originally oriented towards specific sectors that require high quality treatment of color information. In this work we report our experiments demonstrating that practical, general purpose systems that produce low-cost spectral images can be obtained using two acquisitions of the same scene by RGB consumer sensors: the former acquired by a traditional trichromatic sensor, the latter coupling the same sensor with a suitable chosen absorption filter.
