Developing an efficient scheduling template of a chemotherapy treatment unit

This study was undertaken to improve the performance of a Chemotherapy Treatment Unit by increasing the throughput and reducing the average patient’s waiting time. The main objective was to build an efficient scheduling template. In order to achieve this objective, the facility was studied to understand the journey of the patients through different stages of their treatment. Secondly, important data was collected regarding the patient’s type, treatment time and resource availability.
