Comparative analysis of optimal load dispatch through evolutionary algorithms

In this paper, while comparing the cost value for different evolutionary algorithms, Cuckoo Search algorithm comes out with the best result for each load value for six, fifteen, forty, one hundred and forty and three hundred and twenty unit power system. To verify the effectiveness and applicability of the proposed Cuckoo Search algorithm, constraints such as valve point loading, ramp rate limits, prohibited operating zones, multi-fuel options; start-up costs, power balance, generation limits and losses are also incorporated in the test system.
