This paper presents the assessment of a number of future energy scenarios for a village, taking renewable energy sources into account. An energy hub model of the village was generated to optimize the dispatch of different energy carriers for emissions and costs. A CO2 emission reduction of 38% could be achieved by increasing the consumption of biomass, small hydro power and PV, decreasing the need for electricity from the grid and the use of oil for space heating. Further work will implement a more advanced version of the energy hub model taking multiple time periods into account.
