An efficient wavelet based approximation method to water quality assessment model in a uniform channel

In this paper, the shifted second kind Chebyshev wavelet method is used for analyzing the one-dimensional convection diffusion equation with variable coefficients. Numerical results show that the second kind shifted Chebyshev Wavelet Method (CWT) can match the analytical solution very efficiently with quite a few calculations. Also the proposed method has a simple implementation process. It may be concluded that CWT is very powerful and efficient in finding analytical as well as numerical solutions for a wide class of linear and nonlinear differential equations
