Acceleration waves in non-ideal magnetogasdynamics

The growth and decay behaviour of acceleration waves propagating in a plane and cylindrically symmetric motion of a nonideal magnetogasdynamics regime is examined. It is shown that a linear solution in the characteristics plane may exhibit nonlinear behaviour in the physical plane. Transport equations are derived which lead to determination of the first point of breaking into a shock. It is observed that all compressive waves, irrespective of their initial strength, terminate into shock waves.
