A-jump in horizontal inverted semicircular open channels

Analytical and tabulated solutions have been developed for obtaining the change in depth of water passing through a hydraulic jump (A-jump) in an inverted semicircular channel. The proposed methods of solutions were presented in a simple form that would be useful to practicing engineers. The procedure described in the present paper can be used to determine the various elements of A-jump formed in a horizontal inverted semicircular channel when either the discharge Q, the diameter of the semicircular channel D and (y1) (or y2) are known or discharge Q, diameter D and head loss by jump DE are known.
